PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC SHELL MOLD FOR CASTING

PURPOSE:To produce a ceramic shell mold for casting having a uniform thickness without foam by spraying a slurry-like ceramic shell material on the surface of a pattern to form a ceramic shell and removing the pattern after molding a backup mold. CONSTITUTION:A slurry-like ceramic material 2 is sprayed on the surface of a pattern 3 by a spray gun 1 for general building construction to form a ceramic shell 4. The slurry arrives in the form of mist at the surface of the pattern 3 and therefore the ceramic layer having a uniform thickness and contg. fine foam is formed without contg. large foam. A backup mold is formed after drying and the pattern 3, the shell 4, and the backup mold are separated, by which the ceramic mold for casting is manufactured.
