PURPOSE:To prevent the occurence of land slide by a method in which a concrete caisson having a high water permeability is settled into the ground and the ground water is introduced from the wall face of the caisson into the caisson directly to regulate the level of the ground water. CONSTITUTION:A concrete caisson 1 having a high water permeability is settled into the ground, and water is taken out of the whole outer surfaces of the caisson 1. When draining water staying in the caisson 1, in case where the water pressure in the gravel layer (y) is low due to the presence of the upper clay layer (x) as a cut-off wall, the water in the upper layer is returned to the lower gravel layer (y). Also, the water is drained through a large-diameter drain pipe 2 provided on the bottom of the caisson 1, and further pumped up by a pump 3 on the caisson 1 and discharged downwards.
