PURPOSE:In a direct injection Diesel engine piston, to mix fuel and air well thus to improve combustion efficiency by casting a cup-shaped ceramic mold having projection at specific position into top section. CONSTITUTION:Approximately cup-shaped ceramic mold 2 is casted into the top of piston 1. A combustion chamber constituted of a recess 3 is formed at the inside of ceramic mold 2. The injection port 6 of fuel injection nozzle 5 is facing with a projection 4. Suction flow-in speed will increase as the engine rotation increases to increase interference between the swirl 7 and projection 4 gradually to increase disturbing energy. Consequently fuel and air can be mixed well in wide rotation range resulting in improvement of combustion efficiency. |
