PURPOSE:To display Kana (Japanese syllabary) characters requiring Kana-Kanji (Chinese character) conversion and orginary Kana characters, which do not require Kana-Kanji conversion clearly distinctively from each other without a code by displaying both Kana characters in different styles of type in a text generating device of the Kana-Kanji conversion system. CONSTITUTION:In case of the input of a Kanji mixing sentence due to the key operation of a keyboard 11, if a Kana-Kanji conversion designating key is operated to perform the key input of Kana characters corresponding to reading of Kanji when Kana characters requiring Kana-Kanji conversion are inputted, a key input code KF1 and a character code KD are outputted from a keyboard control part 12. A type style selection control part 14 is set to a Kana character pattern selecting mode of a character style B in accordance with this output, and Kana character patterns of the style B are read out from a character pattern memory 13 and are displayed through a screen control part 17. A Kana- Kanji converting part is started in accordance with a key input code KF2 by the next execution key operation, and Kanji is displayed.
