Slide fastener stringer tape is double-faced warp knit from textured yarns to give a lengthwise-stretchable wed section adjoining a non-stretch web margin, the latter having yarns linked with those of the web section, and pref. textured yarns, but also having a gray core-yarn surrounded by yarns of the web section and of higher heat-shrinkage potential than the textured yarns. Then web section non-stretch margin carries fasteners. The soft handle tape is convex at its non-stretc margin as a knit, but becomes convex after heat-setting and dyeing due to the high-shrink core yarn.
