PURPOSE:To attain the forward and reverse revolutions of a cam which turns a support arm for magnetic head by attaching a spring and a conductor made of a shape memory alloy to said cam and therefore making use of the shape memorizable characteristics obtained by the heating and cooling of the conductor. CONSTITUTION:A cam 16 is set at the side of a support arm 14 and has a chevroned form with two arms 17 and 18 which are orthogonal to each other. A fulcrum 19 at the top of the chevron is supported rotatably by a shaft attached in parallel to the rotary shaft of the arm 14. The arm 18 is set rectangularly to the arm 14; while the arm 18 is set approximately in parallel to the arm 14 respectively. The revoltuions of the cam 16 are transmitted to the arm 14 via a lever 20. When the cam 16 has forward revolutions on the basis of the fulcrum 19, the lever 20 moves up the arm 14. While the arm 14 moves down by its empty weight when the cam 16 has reverse revolutions. As a result, a space where a magnetic head loading mechanism of a floppy disk driver is reduced to attain a thin and small sructure for the floppy disk driver as a whole. |
