PURPOSE:To obtain a high quality cathode ray tube by placing downward the bulb face having the phosphor film formed on its internal surface, dropping the rewet water onto the surface of phosphor film causing it to penetratingly diffuse over the entire area of phosphor film and thereafter dropping lacquer onto the rewetted phosphor film and then spreading it. CONSTITUTION:A bulb 1 having a phosphor film 2 formed on internal surface of face 1a is prepared and is held with the face directed downward. A nozzle 15 is inserted from the neck part 1b and a specified amount of water 16 is dropped. The dropped water spreads along external circumference by the capillarity within the concaved and convexed areas of phosphor film 2. When the water reaches the external circumference of face part, rewetting completes. Thereafter, a lacquer supply nozzle 17 is inserted from the neck part 1b and a specified amount of lacquer 18 is dropped. After 2-3min from dropping of lacquer, it runs on the water and spreads over the entire area of internal surface of face 1a. Thereafter, a bulb is dried up and a metalback layer is formed. |
