PURPOSE:To reproduce satisfactorily the high-fidelity sounds by setting different frequencies of sound carrier waves between adjacent tracks and shifting the frequency in the direction where no DC offset is produced after detecting said offset at the time of recording mode. CONSTITUTION:The sound carrier waves having different frequencies between adjacent tracks are used for frequency modulating means 11-14. At the time of recording, the sound modulating signal obtained by compensating the DC offset due to the level difference of frequencies between sound carrier waves. While the DC offset due to the frequency drift of the sound carrier wave of one side is detected by an offset detecting circuit 40. Then the central frequency of the sound carrier waves used for the means 11-14 is shifted in the direction where no DC offset is produced on the basis of the output of the circuit 40. As a result, no compensation is needed at all at the time of reproduction and no buzz is produced due to the variation of the sound output level produced at the joints of tracks. Thus it is possible to perform satisfactorily the reproduction of high- fidelity sounds. |
