PURPOSE:To suppress breakdown of active material particles, increase life of a lead-acid battery, and increase utilization of an active material by forming a lead metal complex on a plate. CONSTITUTION:A lead metal complex is formed on a plate. In order to form a lead metal complex on a plate, a complex forming solution is added to a solution containing lead ion and preferably it is kept in neutral or basic condition. Or lead powder is added in a neutral or basic solution and mixed in a mud state, then complex forming solution is added in it and a lead paste containing purple complex is obtained. This paste is applied to a plate with active material. For example, 100g of 10wt% disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate as a complex forming agent is added to 200g of lead powder (oxidation degree of 50-80%), and a paste having purple lead complex on the lead powder surface is obtained. 100g of lead powder, 100g of water, and 100g of about 40% sulfuric acid are mixed to the paste and they are kneaded and spread on a grid and dried to form a paste type plate. |
