MICROWAVE POWER DISTRIBUTING AND COMBINING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To distribute and combine microwave electric power with low loss by providing slits which increase in slit width from an H-horn side to the side of plural microwave transmission lines in both side faces of a mode conversion part. CONSTITUTION:A microwave propagating from a waveguide 1 to an H horn 2 has an electric-field value distribution which is highest at the center part and zero on both side faces of the H horn 2 in the boundary surface between the H horn 2 and mode conversion part 3 (in TE mode). As the microwave like this propagates in the mode conversion part 3 having slits 8 in both side faces, circumferences of both side faces where an electric field are influenced by an intense electric field at the circumference of the center to obtain a nearly constant electric field distribution at the exit of the mode conversion part 3. This part is regarded as a parallel flat plate transmission line, so transmission in TEM mode is possible and the mode conversion part 3 is connected to a microwave strip line part 10 easily. Microwaves are supplied from a microwave integrated circuit part and then (n) microwaves of electric power are combined togther and outputted to one waveguide 1.
