PURPOSE:To transport a heat storage material efficiently by a method wherein the device is provided with a heat storage tank filled with a heat storage material adopted to exchange heat with a heat transfer section and a transporting section communicating with, and removably connectecd to, the top of the heat storage tank and the heat storage tank is made rotatable about a horizontal shaft. CONSTITUTION:Numeral 11 designated the heat storage tank which is rotatably supported by the horizontal shaft 14 and which includes the transportationsection 13 removably connected to the top of the tank 11 through a flange 12 in communication with the latter. Numeral 15 designates the heat transfer section which is provided at the lower part of the tank 11 and which is isolated from the space within the tank 11. The heat transfer section 15 has a double pipe structure including an inner cylinder section and an outer cylinder section so that a heat medium entered the inner cylinder section through a heat medium inlet port 16 connected to the inner cylinder section flows into the outer cylinder section at the top end of the inner cylinder section and flows out from a heat medium outlet port 17 connected to the outer cylinder section after flowing through a passage formed around the outer periphery of the inner cylinder section. To take out the heat storage material 19 from the heat storage tank 11, the heat storage tank proper is rotated by 180 deg. about the horizontal shaft 14 and then stopped after the termination of the heat storage or the heat discharge process whereupon the heat storage material 19 transfers to the transportation section 13 from the heat storage tank 11. Then, when the heat storage material has transferred to the section 13 completely, a truck for transportation is guided to come under the section 13 and the section 13 is separated from the tank 11 through the flange 12. |
