NEW MATERIAL:A complex of blood coagulation factor XIII and a physiologically active substance. EXAMPLE:The complex of blood coagulation factor XIII and mitomycin C. USE:An antitumor agent, antibacterial agent and anti-inflammatory agent. It has been found that blood coagulation factor XIII is accumulated specifically to the diseased part such as wound, inflammation, proliferation site of neoplasmic cell, etc., and the factor XIII is utilized as a carrier of a physiologically active substance (e.g. antitumor substance, antibaceterial substance, anti-inflammatory substance, etc.). The affinity of the physiologically active substance to the diseased part can be improved. PREPARATION:The blood coagulation factor XIII is made to react with a physiologically active factor in an aqueous solution of 5-8pH at 10-30 deg.C in the presence of a protein crosslinking agent (e.g. glutaraldehyde, carbodiimide, etc.) to obtain the titled complex.
