PURPOSE:To reduce transfer-printing time by preheating transferable ink to a temperature in the neighborhood of transfer temperature which is coated on a sheet of transfer paper located in the incident direction with respect to a heat generating element of a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating element 8 accommodated in a drum 1 generates heat when the power source is connected with the apparatus or at the starting time of a recording paper ribbon 2 to be wound onto the drum 1 and within the time when the drum 1 rotates to the transfer starting position, that is to say, the position of the heat-generating element of a thermal head 3, and the element heats the sheet of paper 2 up to a temperature in the neighborhood of transfer temperature of the transfer ink. Namely, when the thermal head 3 is pressed to the drum 1 in the transfer starting position through the transfer paper 4 and recording paper ribbon 2, ink coated onto the transfer paper sheet 4 by the heated recording paper ribbon 2 is heated and a signal indicating transfer to the heat-generating element of the thermal head 3 is delivered and ink is transferred instantaneously to the recording paper ribbon 2 and thus, accelerating of transfer speed can be achieved. |
