NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R is cycloalkyl; A is lower alkylene) and its salt. EXAMPLE:4-Hydroxy-6-[ 4-( 1-cyclohexyltetrazol-5-yl )butoxy ]-3,4-dihydrocarbostyryl. USE:It is used as a preventive or remedy for thromboses, antiinflammatory and antiulcer. It shows high action of inhibiting platelet coagulation, inhibiting phosphodiesterase and antihistamic action. PREPARATION:The dehydrohalogenation reaction between hydroxycarbostyryl of formula II and a tetrazole derivative of formula III (X is halogen) is effected in a customary manner to give the compound of formula I . As the dehydrohalogenation agent, is used a basic compound such as sodium hydroxide.
