A fuser member (1) and method of fusing or fixing thermopiastic resin powder images (14) to a substrate (12) in a fuser assembly of the type wherein a polymeric release agent (22) having functional groups is applied to the surface (2) of the fuser member (1) is disclosed. The fuser member (1) comprises a base member (4, 70) having an elastomer (2, 64) surface with metal-containing filler (66) therein. Metal-containing fillers include metals, metal alloys, metal oxides and metal salts. Exemplary of such a fuser member (1) is an aluminium base member (4, 70) coated with poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) copolymer (2, 64) having lead oxide filler (66) dispersed therein and utilizing mercapto-functional polyorganosiloxane as a release agent (22,60).
