PURPOSE:To measure the pitch error of a feed screw accurately by allowing a pitch error correcting device to collect movement distance data at intervals of the specific-amount movement of the moving body of a machine tool. CONSTITUTION:When a numeric controller 1 informs a microcomputer 9 of the start of pitch error measurement after a tape for pitch error measurement is started and a counter 8 is set to zero, the controller 1 rotates a motor 4 to move a table 2 at a specific speed by specific distance. Consequently, the counter 8 counts up by the output of the encoder 5, and when the counter 8 goes up to a specific value, the counter 8 generates an output to hold data on the movement distance of the table 2 in a length measuring instrument 6 and is reset to zero. The movement distance data is stored in a memory 9a every time the counter 8 attains to the specific value. Thus, the movement distance data on the table 2 is collected by the pitch error correcting device 7. Then, the controller 1 calculates the accurate movement position of the table 2 on the basis of a pitch error corrected value. |
