The invention relates to a gaming and training device for carrying out naval warfare operations with two opposing fleets whose success is determined by the number of opposing ships recorded as sunk, having a base board provided with a cartographic grid on the surface, on which model seascape elements, islands with harbours or the like are detachably fixed by means of retaining means and on which model vessels are displaceably arranged. The base board is coated with a slip-proof film. On the base board, the latter can be removably attached to cover a template-like blank of slip-proof design on the surface, with a cartographic grid adapted to a particular geographical area. Arranged on each end section of the base board is a sub-tableau formed from a sub-box and a lid, in the sub-box of which a cartographic grid corresponding to the pattern of the cartographic grid is designed, and in whose lid closeable perforations assigned to the cartographic squares of the cartographic grid are formed.
