PURPOSE:The titled isomer mixture useful as a polymerization initiator, etc., having improved solvent solubility, by blending a low-melting isomer of 2,2'- azobis(2,4-dimethylvaleronitrile) with a high-melting isomer of 2,2'-azobis(2,4- dimethylvaleronitrile) in a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethylvaleronitrile) (ADVN for short) isomers consisting of =70-<100wt% (preferably 98-76wt%) low-melting isomer of ADVN and <=about 30wt% (preferably 2-24wt%) high-melting isomer of ADVN, having more improved solvent solubility than the low-melting isomer of ADVN. Improved solvent solubility of the ADVN is especially advantageous in the use of a polymerization initiator, an amount of a solvent used to dissolve the ADVN is extremely a small amount, physical properties of prepared polymer are raised, and reduction in production cost and improvement in operation environment can be attained.
