摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a defectless product having excellent dynamic characteristics such as high specific elasticity and high specific strength by using a high pressure solidification casting method in producing a composite billet of an Al metal and reinforcing fibers and a melt or semi melt extrusion method in extrusion- forming of the billet. CONSTITUTION:A composite billet impregnated with Al or an Al alloy in reinforcing fibers is produced by a high pressure solidification casting method. Then the matrix metal having extremely small flow stress is thoroughly impregnated in the fibers and a composite billet having extremely less blowholes is obtd. Less cavities are thus formed when the billet is extruded. Since the matrix metal is heated successively to a meet or semi melt state in the extrusion process, the contact of the fibers with each other during extrusion is obviated. The disadvantage of damaging and breaking the fibers is thus eliminated and the initial fiber length is satisfactorily retained in the product.
