PURPOSE:To provide a rapid-acting and quick-drying harmless disinfectant having high sterilizing effect, by mixing benzoic acid and/or sorbic acid with an alcohol and carbon dioxide gas at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:Benzoic acid and/or sorbic acid are added to an alcohol, and carbon dioxide gas is mixed with the alcohol solution to obtain the objective disinfectant. The amount of benzoic acid and/or sorbic acid, and alcohol in the agent are 0.1-3% and 50-80%, respectively, and the carbon dioxide gas accounts for the remaining part of the agent. The disinfectant exhibits rapid-drying property by the volatility of the alcohol, and bacteriostatic activity by the presence of carbon dioxide gas. The bactericidal activity of the alcohol can be improved by the action of benzoic acid and sorbic acid. USE:The nosocomial infection in the hospital, etc. can also be prevented.
