The invention relates to an apparatus for eliminating liquid impurities, in particular oil (14), from the water surface by means of a rotor (1) partly immersed in the water (13), which rotor, between two end walls (3, 4), is provided with spiral scoops (5) running outwardly from a drum-shaped core (2) furnished with orifices (6). In the interior of the core (2) is a rotationally fixed drum (10), which has a slit (11) at its lower side. The oil (14) scooped up by the scoops (5) passes through the orifices (6) and the slit (11) with the aid of the water (13) pressing from below into the drum interior, while the water (13) can drain off via orifices (7) in the end walls (3, 4). <IMAGE>
