PURPOSE:To prepare a filter consisting of an upper and a lower cases each made of a synthetic resin without generating a molten burr or a fine powder, by integrating both cases by generating heat from a filter element comprising a metal filter material which is also used as a heat generator without using a friction means. CONSTITUTION:An upper case 6 made of a synthetic resin, for example, a thermoplastic resin such as nylon having an outflow port 4 and a flange 5 provided to the outer periphery thereof and a lower case 9 made of the same synthetic resin having an inflow port 7 and a flange 8 provided to the outer periphery thereof are assembled so that a filter element 10 comprising a metal filter material such as a wire mesh or a wire screen is held therebetween. Subsequently, the outer peripheries of both cases are irradiated with high frequency waves from a high frequency heating apparatus 11. By this method, the filter element 10 comprising the metal filter material receives an induction current to generate heat and the upper and the lower cases 6, 9 are integrally welded by melting the surfaces of the flanges 5, 9.
