PURPOSE:To obtain excellent color forming sensitivity and preservability, by incorporating a colorless or light-colored electron-donative leuco dye, and a specified benzophenone compound as a color developer for developing the color of the dye when being heated. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula [I], wherein each of R1 and R2 is a 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C alkoxy or halogen, X is hydrogen or a 1-5C alkoxy and Y is a 1-5C alkyl or halogen, is used as the color developer. The total amount of the color developer is 2-10 times the amount of the color former in a recording recording layer, and the amount of a binder is 0.3-3 times the amount of the color former in the layer. A thermal recording paper thus obtained has excellent heat-sensitive characteristics, thermal decoloration resistance, moisture decoloration resistance and water resistance and is free of blushing. |
