CORRECTING METHOD OF FLATNESS OF THICK STEEL PLATE

PURPOSE:To correct effectively waving of a thick steel plate and to assure flatness by measuring the flatness of the steel plate after hot rolling, inclining the steel plate in accordance with the value thereof and leveling the steel plate. CONSTITUTION:The image on the surface shape of a thick steel plate 1 emerged from a hot rolling mill 4 is taken with a TV camera 5 or the like and the image thereof is processed by an arithmetic device 6 to calculte flatness. The angle at which a rolled material 1 is to be inserted into a leveler is determined in accordance with the value of said flatness and an operation command is applied from a control device 7 to the driving cylinders 9 of said guides 8 to incline the material 1 which is then supplied to a roller leveler 3. The flatness of the thick steel plate having about >=20mm. thickness is remarkably improved by the above- mentioned method.
