PURPOSE:An insecticidal composition showing cooperative and synergistic effects in a low concentration, obtained by combining a nitromethylene derivative with a carboxylic acid ester. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition having no phytotoxicity to cultivated plants, low toxicity to warm-blooded animals, capable of controlling completely insect pests in protection of agriculture, forestry, stored crops and products, obtained by combining a nitromethylene derivative [e.g., 1-(3- pyridylmethyl)-2-(nitromethylene)tetrahydropyrimidine etc.,] shown by the formula I(X is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen; l is o, 1 or 2; ma is 2 or 3) with a carboxylic acid ester[e.g., alpha-cyano-3-phenoxy-4-fluoro-benzyl 3-(2,2- dichlorovinyl)-2-,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate,-etc.,] shown by the formula II(R<1> is lower alkyl, etc.,; R<2> is H or CH; X<1> and X<2> are H or halogen). |
