<p>PURPOSE:To automatically carry out the supply of steel rods to a working machine, the working of the rods, the discharging of the rods, the replacement of pallets, etc., by providing a carrier vehicle, the working machine, a shifting device and a control device in a device for automatically working the steel rods piled up on pallets. CONSTITUTION:An automatic rod working device comprises carrier vehicles 32, 34 for conveying, to a predetermined position, pallets 32, 34 on which rods 31, 33 are piled up in multiple layers and issuing a conveyance completing signal, an NC lathe for working the rods 31, 33 and issuing a work completion signal after completion of the working, a shifting device 3 for shifting the rods 31, 33 between the carrier vehicle 1 and the NC lathe 6 and issuing a shift completion signal after completion of the shifting, and a control device 7 for controlling the operation of the above-mentioned units. The control device 7 sends instruction to the carrier vehicle 1 for conveying the pallets 32, 34 to the shifting device 3, and then sends operating instruction to the shifting device 3 for feeding the rods 31, 33 to the NC lathe 6 which also receives operating instruction from the control device 7. After completion of the working the shifting device 7 is instructed to feed the worked rods 31, 33 to the carrier vehicle 1 for discharging the rods 31, 33.</p> |
