A childproof lid, preferably for household chemicals, has locking elements 7 along the periphery with externally actuatable hooks 12. The interval between each of the locking elements is greater than the span of a child's hand. The edge of the lid has three rings 1, 2, 3, the outer 3 of which is supported on the container edge. The inner ring 1 is connected to the cover 6. Locking elements 7 are located in the middle ring 2, the edge of the lid above the hooks being perforated. The locking elements 7 are designed to be moveable and resiliently sprung by means of cuts in the edge of the lid. <IMAGE>
