PURPOSE:To provide a welding torch which permits the use of large electric current and is small in size and light in weight by feeding shielding gas for welding to a metallic tube wound on the outside circumferential part of a nozzle of a welding torch so as to cool the nozzle part. CONSTITUTION:An operator pushes a lever 11 to a rear side and feeds shielding gas from a gas bomb 18 through a gas hose 16, a welding power source 13 and a gas hose 8 to a tube 7. The shielding gas is supplied, after cooling a nozzle 3, to the welding material of materials 19 to be welded through a gas hose 6, a grip 1, a curved guide 2 and the nozzle 3. Since the nozzle 3 is cooled by the shielding gas for welding, a cooling effect approximately 50% higher than the case in which a natural cooling by air is used is obtd. and the welding by large current is accomplished for a longer time. The additional reduction in size and weight of the welding torch is made possible by the high cooling efficiency. |
