THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To provide a thermoplastic resin compsn. which has excellent compatibility and gives moldings having excellent appearance, mechanical properties, etc., by blending an epoxy resin with a resin mixture of polyphenylene sulfide and a polyamide in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:1-20pts.wt. epoxy resin is blended with 100pts.wt. resin mixture obtd. by mixing 1-99pts.wt. polyphenylene sulfide with 99-1pt.wt. polyamide to obtain the desired thermoplastic resin compsn. Polyphenylene sulfide resin contg. at least 70mol% of a structural unit of the formula is preferred and can be obtd. by reacting p-dichlorobenzene with sodium sulfide in a solvent. Preferred polyamides include nylon 6 and nylon 66. Preferred epoxy resins include novolak type epoxy resins.
