PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. which exhibits an increased melt viscosity and is suitable for use in injection or blow molding, by blending an ethylene/ carboxylic acid copolymer with a specified block copolyester. CONSTITUTION:95-30wt% crystalline arom. polyester having a m.p. of 150 deg.C or higher, an acid value of 1.5 equivalents/mol or below and an MW of at least 5,000 and 5-70wt% lactone such as epsilon-caprolactone are copolymerized in the presence of 0-0.2wt% (based on the combined quantity of the polyester and the lactone) catalyst such as diacyltin (II) to obtain a block copolyester (A). 1- 40wt% ethylene/carboxylic acid copolymer (B) contg. an ethylene unit of 25- 98.5wt% and a carboxylic acid unit of 1.5-30wt% is blended with component A. EFFECT:A compsn. which has excellent impact resistance and suffers less deterioration by heat at an elevated temp. can be obtd. without detriment to the excellent properties inherent to the block copolyester. |
