PURPOSE:To produce tocopherol, economically and stably, by the tissue culture of soybean or wheat. CONSTITUTION:Various organs of soybean or wheat, individual cells constituting thereof, cultured cells or cultured tissue derived therefrom, preferably cultured cell or differentiated cultured tissue derived from the embryo or young sprout of the plant, are subjected to the tissue culture in normal synthetic nutrient medium by conventional process, and tocopherol is separated from the cultured product.
