Hydroxythioether fatty acid derivatives of formula (I) <IMAGE> (I) wherein n is 2-5, m is 8-12, R1 is OH, O-loweralkyl, NH2, NH-loweralkyl or NH-carboxyalkyl; R2 is OH or O-loweralkyl; X is H or NH2 or <IMAGE> and salts thereof are useful in preventing or alleviating asthma or other allergic diseases.
