PURPOSE:To avoid that an insert in a molded item is exposed to the surface of the molded item, by using a synthetic resin holding clip having a sleeve, a spacer and anchoring pawls, and effecting molding with the insert being held in the cavity of the mold by said holding clip. CONSTITUTION:A holding clip 1 includes a cylindrical sleeve 2 having a hole 2', a circular spacer 3 attached to one end of the sleeve 2 and having a hole 3' with approximately the same diameter as that of the hole 2', tapered anchoring pawls 4 attached to the other end of the sleeve 2 that cooperatively form a hole 4' having approximately the same diameter as that of the hole 2' and have projections 5 located inside of the hole 4', and slits 6 that extend from the sleeve 2 to the projections and are in the shape of a cross. After an insert 7 is inserted into the sleeve 2 of the holding clip 1, the holding clip 1 is engaged with a support pin 10 embedded in one mold 9 so that the insert 7 is held in the cavity. After the injection molding, when the holding clip 1 is removed from the support pin 10, a molded item 12 wherein the insert 7, the holding clip 1 and the injected resin are integral can be obtained.
