PURPOSE:To prepare L-glutamic acid in high efficiency, by culturing a bacterial strain belonging to Corynebacterium genus or Brevibacterium genus and capable of proliferating in an energy metabolism-inhibiting substance or a ubiquinone precursor. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Corynebacterium genus or Brevibacterium genus, resistant to antibiotic substances exhibiting energy metabolism inhibition, e.g. oligomycin, antimycin A, etc. or a presursor of the biosynthesis of ubiquinone, e.g. o-hydroxycinnamic acid, phenylpyruvic acid, etc., and capable of producing L-glutamic acid, e.g. Corynebacterium glutamicum COM-53 (FERM- BP No.428), is cultured in a nutrient medium under aerobic condition at 20- 40 deg.C and 3-9pH for 1-4 days, and L-glutamic acid is separated from the cultured liquid. |
