PURPOSE:To discharge ink small droplets from an ink storage by using electron beam as a heat energy source by a method in which an ink heater is provided on an electron-permeable material set close to an ink storage and electron beam is projected to the ink heater. CONSTITUTION:The thin film 51 of a window material is bonded to a base plate 53 with CVD, a part of the base plate 53 is removed by etching to form a slender groove 62, and a heater pad 60 is set on the thin film 51 on the opposite side of the groove 62. Spacers 55, 58, 59 and orifice plate 57 for forming the ink storage 64 are attached and an orifice 56 is set to the plate 57 in the face of the pad 60. The head 50 is fixed to the face plate 69 of a Braun tube 63 in such a way as to match the groove 62 with the groove 61 of the Braun tube 63. The heater pad 60 absorbs electron rays coming from the beam to obtain a heat energy necessary for driving the printer, and thereby ink is injected toward the direction of arrow D.
