Stable plurilamellar vesicles (SPLVS) are new, esp. vesicles free from multilamellar vesicles (MLVS), sonicated unilamellar vesicles (USVs) and reverse-phase evapn. vesicles (REVs). The SPLVs have good stability and high entrapment efficiency and they stick to tissues and cells for a prolonged time. Entrapped materials (I) are released slowly in body fluids, that that when (I) are therapeutic agents, they may show greater efficacy than when delivered by other methods. The SPLVs have good stability in buffers, they have better stability in harsh physiological conditions, the liposomal contents are ultimately dispersed throughout the cytosol of the target cell and they can be economically produced. (I) include antimicrobials, tumouricides, toxins, cell receptor binder, immunoglobulins, anti-inflammatory agents, local anaesthetics, enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters, immunomodulators, nucleotides, dyes, fluorescent cpds., radiotracers, radio-opaque agents, etc.
|
