摘要 PURPOSE:To correctly calculate the load without being affected by error factors by judging a full-load condition or a no-load condition of an engine based on the rack position of an injection pump and the number of revolutions, storing and retaining its position, and correcting the subsequent load calculation. CONSTITUTION:A revolution number sensor 3 (e.g., electromagnetic pickup) is provided on a Diesel engine 1, and a rack position sensor 4 (e.g., inductance type) is provided on a fuel injection pump 2 as a fuel injection quantity adjusting member position sensor for detecting the fuel injection quantity adjusting member position. In addition, a microcomputer is incorporated in a calculating unit 5 to calculate the injection timing based on the number of revolutions and the load, and an injection timing adjusting mechanism 6 is provided to change the injection timing. A full-load condition or a no-load condition of the engine is judged based on detection signals of the sensors 3, 4, and detection signals of the sensor 4 at a full-load rack position 41 and a no-load rack position 42 under these conditions are stored and retained, then the stored values are corrected every time the full-load condition or no-load condition is judged, thus the load condition of the engine can be calculated.
