PURPOSE:To enable the handling of a veneer in the direction of its grain and make touch-up work easier by conveying said veneer perpendicularly to its grain at a certain distance above the veneer and in the direction of its grain, then inverting it upside down, and further conveying it at a certain distance above, in a veneer carrying-in device which feeds veneers into a veneer clipper, etc. CONSTITUTION:A veneer 1 is conveyed in the direction perpendicular to its grain by means of a first conveying device 4-6 which is provided in a position shifted max. 60cm upward and in the direction of the grain from piled veneers 2. Then, the veneer 1 is inverted upside down by means of inverting belts 7, 8, and delivered to a carrying-in belt 9, which is provided in a position max. 70cm above the piled veneers 2, to be conveyed to a processing equipment not shown in figure. Due to such a construction, it is possible for a single worker to handle a veneer in the direction of the grain and to carry out touch-up work easily since the veneer stays in the range of manual work.
