PURPOSE:To improve the starting property by detecting the armature current of a motor having shunt or separately-excited field coil, for starting an engine and controlling the filed current in response to the detected armature current. CONSTITUTION:Since the voltage Va of an armature current detector 7 is Va>= Vr at the time point when the contact IG of an ignition switch 2 is closed, a transistor 12 is turned ON, and a field current If is flowed to a shunt field coil 6 of a motor M. When a contact S is closed, the contact 5c of a magnet switch 5 is closed. Accordingly, an armature current Ia is flowed to the armature 3. When the rotating speed is accelerated and the armature current Ia decreases so that Va<Vr is obtained, the transistor 12 is turned OFF. Then, the field current If decreases. Consequently, the armature current Ia increases. When again Va>=Vr is obtained, the transistor 12 is turned ON. |
