USE:A dye which dyes hydrophobic synthetic fibers such as acrylic, modacrylic, polyamide or polyester fiber, semisynthetic fiber such as di- or triacetate fiber and synthetic resins such as polystyrene, polyolefins, polyacrylates, polyvinyl chloride resins or polyesters yellowish red to violet. PREPARATION:For example, the reaction of a compound of formula III with a cyanide salt in an inert solvent is followed by oxidation with an oxidizing agent.
