PURPOSE:To obtain a clear dye image by imagewise exposing a photosensitive material contg. photosensitive silver halide and a specified dye providing substance on a support and by heating the exposed material. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide emulsion contg. 1mol photosensitive silver halide, 0.01-4mol immobile dye providing substance, a binder, an auxiliary coating agent, an antistatic agent, a photographic characteristics improver, an iorg. silver salt oxidizing agent, etc. is coated on a support and dried to obtain a photosensitive material. The dye providing substance is reducible, releases a hydrophilic dye by heating, and stops the release of the dye when it reacts with photosensitive silver halide by heating. The photosensitive material is imagewise exposed to radiant light contg. visible light, and the exposed material is heated at 80-250 deg.C for 0.5-300sec in the absence of water. The released mobile dye is fixed to form a dye image.
