PURPOSE:To stabilize a direction of inclination of an ink ribbon, by a method wherein the axis of at least one of guide rollers for guiding an ink ribbon in a condition of being inclined against a printing line is inclined against a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:In a printer a type belt 9 is moved in a horizontal direction by pulleys 8, a platen is provided on the inside of the type belt 9, printing hammers 1 provided in a line along printing positions are faced to a platen 4 through the type belt 9 therebetween, an ink ribbon 3 led out from a ribbon cassette 7 is moved in the condition of being inclined against the horizontal printing line between the type belt 9 and the printing hammers 1 by ribbon guides 11, 12, and a printing paper 2 is fed in a vertical upward direction between the hammers 1 and the ink ribbon 3, thereby printing. In said printer, the axis of at least one of the ribbon guides 11, 12 is inclined by an angle theta against the vertical direction. |
