PURPOSE:To prevent combustion of carbon permeated into joint parts and cracked parts, and to avoid occurrence of black smoke caused by leakage of coke oven gas into flues, by making air flow from each coal inlet into a carbonization chamber depending upon state of attached carbon in an oven. CONSTITUTION:Divergence of each coal inlet is adjusted in such a way that total volume of introduced air from each coal inlet is equal to a volume of discharged air caused by chimney effect of riser depending upon thickness of attached carbon below each coal inlet of a carbonization chamber, carbon is burned for 2-3hr and removed. EFFECT:Combustion and removal of carbon of empty furnace of 2-3hr/time provides almost the same effect as existing combustion and removal of carbon of empty furnace of one cycle.
