This heat recuperator is made by the andirons 7 of the fireplace, which are given a tubular shape. The front end of each andiron 7 is connected to an intake of air to be heated 9, while its rear end is connected to a vertical enclosure 5 situated in the back of the fireplace. The tubular andirons 7 advantageously have internal fins 16, and a rotating tap 10 may be provided at their intake. Such a heat recuperator can be fitted to any fireplace having a double-walled back. <IMAGE>
