In accordance with a novel process which represents a technical advance, the known 1-(2-allyloxyphenoxy)-3-isopropylamino-2-propanol of the formula <IMAGE> or salts thereof is prepared by reacting the compound of the formula <IMAGE> with a reactive ester of allyl alcohol and, if desired, the resulting free compound is converted into a salt, or a resulting salt is converted into the free compound or into another salt.
