PURPOSE:To eliminate a miscopy by selecting a sheet feeder loaded with a cassette of a desired size, even if it is empty when the cassette desired in size is retrieved in the condition not empty of a sheet and it can not be found. CONSTITUTION:A controller is provided with means 100-103, 104-107, 200-203, 204-207 for discriminating kinds of cassettes loaded in copying sheet feeders, empty sensors ES1-ES4 for detecting emptiness of the sheet in the cassette, means for inputting and storing the size of the copying sheet to be preferentially selected, etc. When the cassette of a size stored in the memory is retrieved in the condition not empty of the sheets and found, the feeder of this cassette is selected. When it is not found, it is again retrieved excluding said condition not empty of them, and when it is found, the feeder of said empty cassette is selected. |
