PURPOSE:A composition for oral cavity useful as toothpaste, lubricating dentifrice, mouthwash, etc., suppressing effectively formation of sordes on a tooth causing decay of the teeth, containing an extract of leaves of Casuarina stricta or fruits of Alnus sieboldiana alone or a blend of extracts. CONSTITUTION:An oral cavity composition containing 0.1-5wt% extract of leaves of Casuarina stricta or fruits of Alnus sieboldiana alone or blend of extracts. The extract inhibits effectively glucose transferase which has an action on formation of adhesive glucan from sucrose, so formation of sordes on a tooth is suppressed, and dacay of the teeth is prevented. The extract may be an extract from a raw material plant with a solvent such 30-70wt% aqueous solution of acetone, >=30wt% aqueous solution of alcohol such as methanol, ethanol, or an alcohol.
