Translucent polyester films are silk-screen printed with pictures or drawing using opaque or transparent inks or liq. crystals. The films are mounted in a continuous reel which is unwound slowly in front of one or more fixed reels. The superimposition of the films and slowly sliding of one past the other causes new motifs to appear when they are illuminated.
