PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head having high reliability by providing a reinforcing material on at least one surface in the transverse direction of the track of a magnetic core chip consisting of a pair of core halves. CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic core chips 3 and, for example, a tooth-shaped block body 12 of a reinforcing material having plural magnetic core chip inserting parts 11 into which the chips 3 can be inserted are prepd. The block body 12 consists of, for example, glass, ceramics, or low permeability ferrite as mentioned above, and the respective block pieces 12a sandwiching the parts 11 are preliminarily formed in conformity with the shape of the chips 3 so as to form partial grooves 13, 14 corresponding to winding grooves 9, 10. The chips 3 are respectively inserted into the parts 11 of the body 12, and the body 12 and the chips 3 are fixed by using low melting glass, for example, plate-shaped low melting glass. The bottom part of the body 12 is then cut from the position of a chain line 15 to separate the respective block pieces 12a, and the block body is cut from the intermediate position of the respective pieces 12a between the chips 3. The intended magnetic head 17 joined with the nonmagnetic reinforcing material 4 on both surfaces of the chip 3 is thus obtd. |
