<p>Briquetting machine with partly cylindrical press jaws (8, 10); method and device for regulating the compacting pressure. The aim of the present invention is to design a briquetting press such that the compacting pressure may be rapidly and automatically regulated as a function of the properties of the material to be compacted so as to eliminate the press overloads and to obtain constant quality briquettes. To this effect, the press jaws (8, 10) are adjustable through a controllable unit exerting wedge forces. Said unit is provided with wedge surfaces (44, 46) formed on the press jaws, on which pressure rolls (48, 50) arranged in a moving frame (52) are moved. In order to regulate the compacting pressure, the load of the reciprocating press motor (80) is compared with a threshold value. When the load deviates from the threshold value, the compacting pressure of the press jaws (8, 10) and/or the amount of supplied material is modified so as to regulate the reciprocating press motor (80) to the threshold load. </p> |
